There is one event that all driving fans flock towards every year and that is the Cambrian Rally. It is one of the biggest racing events in the UK and is now less than a month away. For 2014 the Cambrian Rally will take place on Saturday 18th October and large crowds of spectators are expected to descend on the normally sleepy region of North Wales where the race takes place. Although North Wales seems an out of the way location for such a major event the region has been associated with car racing for many years thanks to its challenging roads and beautiful countryside. The stages of the race run through areas such as the impressive Great Orme, the stunning Clocaenog and Alwen forests and the charming villages of Betws Y Coed and Penmachno The Cambrian Rally is organised by North Wales Car Club and has been since the first rally in 1955. This year will be the 59th Cambrian Rally in North Wales and spectators are already awaiting more information about the stages with eager anticipation. Full stage information will be released soon so spectators can choose where they would like to watch this thrilling event form. The Great Orme Stage was added last year and is one of the best for getting a good view. This race is the last round of REIS-BTRDA so racing fans come in their thousands to watch the skill of the top drivers involved. This year the race is looking forward to welcoming big names such as Stig Blomqvist, Markku Alen, Per Eklund and Juha Kankkunen. Don’t miss out on one of the biggest driving events of the UK calendar this October 18th. Although we do not wish to encourage young and inexperienced drivers to embark on racing it is important to educate them about the value of safe driving and how racing involves a great deal of danger, skill and a controlled environment. Intensive Driving Courses do not only cover the basics of learning to drive, they also provide a thorough education of road safety and the importance of responsibility on the roads. Please enjoy the Cambrian Rally and drive responsibly. Image Credit: www.flickr.com/photos/paullfc/ |
